Group Programs

Social Skills and Peer Interaction

Our group programs, including the Chill & Chat program, focus on helping youth develop critical social skills, teamwork, emotional regulation, and executive function abilities. Positive reinforcement and modeling are integral components of these sessions. Participants engage in interactive group settings where they practice effective communication, build peer relationships, and develop the confidence to navigate social settings.

Individual Interventions

Personalized Strategies for Unique Needs

For youth who require more personalized support, our individual interventions provide one-on-one sessions that focus on addressing specific challenges such as self-regulation, impulse control, and emotional management. These interventions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, helping them overcome obstacles and develop strategies for success.

Community-Based Learning

Real-World Application of Learned Skills

Our summer camps offer community-based learning opportunities where youth can apply the skills they've learned in real-world settings. Whether navigating social interactions in public spaces or managing emotional responses to unexpected events, these camps help youth build confidence and resilience through practical, hands-on experiences.

Key Areas of Focus

What Our Programs Address

Skills to Support Independence and Growth

Executive Function Skills

Tools for Self-Regulation

Executive function (EF) skills are responsible for helping us self-regulate by enabling us to increase some behaviors and decrease others, depending on the demands of the situation. These skills provide the foundation for managing emotions, organizing tasks, and responding to challenges effectively.

We also encourage our participants experiencing severe anxiety to seek support from a trained counsellor. We work directly with a local school counsellor who is skilled in providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Social Skills Development

Building Confidence in Social Situations

Our social skills programs focus on helping youth improve communication, build relationships, and engage confidently with others. Through group activities and peer interaction, participants learn how to interpret social cues, manage conversations, and develop meaningful connections with their peers.

Chill & Chat Program with Peer Coach

Within our Chill & Chat program, peer coaches provide guidance and support to participants. Two of our peer coaches are neurodivergent, allowing them to bring relatable experiences to the sessions. Peer coaches focus on fostering positive reinforcement and modeling to help youth build confidence, improve their skills, and thrive in group interactions

  • He looks forward to her group all week! He has learned how to hold a conversation and engage with all types of people. He has learned social and emotional ques and has learned to actively listen to others and wait his turn to reply. We are thrilled with his progress to date and hope that our son can enjoy her groups for years to come!

    Vanessa and Mike

  • Sheila has been an absolute breath of fresh air in our son's therapy journey. Our pre-teen son has been participating in Sheila's Chill and Chat group for 2 years now. Sheila took the time to meet with him and vet him into the right group to ensure his success during onboarding. We appreciated the care she took in the process.

    Vanessa and Mike

  • "Can't say enough good things about Sheila and her team. The Chill & Chat social skills group is excellent. It's practical and fun. My child has grown by leaps and bounds through this group. Sheila has been available for one-on-one help and also for help directly at school. She has given us individual advice as parents and she has attended school meetings with us. Sheila is kind, patient and always generous with her time. She truly represents excellence and we are very lucky to have her in our child's life."
